"I sing of the Heroic People, known as the Forest People, and their journey into the distant times and places of the Known Worlds.
After the Great Battle, the Army of Light were acclaimed heros and the Forest People with them. This became the Golden Age of the Forest People.
After a while, as the Forest People began to live elsewhere, the common name became the Heroic People. It was a Hestian priestess that first mispronounced their name as 'Ewoic Pweeple that led to the gradual transliteration of the name to Ewoiks or Ewooks.
Alternately, because of the myth of bunnies clinging on for dear life during a mass attack in the Great Battle, the term "Clings-on" were also applied to them.
With the Twilight of the Gods, Ares protected his Childeren as best he could. With the help of Aphrodite, he opened a spatial gate and transported his proteges to three separate worlds and left a small contingent on Earth as the "Last Watch" in the hope that the future would allow his Children to reunite.
The first group were the warrior Ewoiks, who disdained the more peaceful of their cousins and and took the appelation of Clings-ons instead. The hot local environment evolved them into a less furred people. In time, they became the Klingons, a war-like people.
The second group became wanderers and adventurers, even on their home planet. A colder world, their fur thickened, their speech patterns devolved to the point that they referred to themselves as Wookies and words became more like screeches. At times they are called "Fuzzy Butts", an ancient nickname.
The third group was transported by Aphrodite while Ares was busy with the other two. She chose a more peaceful contingent and placed them in a pleasant forested world. Being Dite, she considered them cute and reduced their size to help them more easily assimilate into their new world. They retained the original name and became know as the Ewoks.
The final group, the "Last Watch" still live on Earth, hidden from human sight. Myths and legends grew from the rare sightings and rumors of their existence slowly faded in human memory. Centuries distorted their name until whispers of "Sasquatch will get you" are used to frighten children at night.
The Furies predicted that at some time in the distant future, humans and the Heroic People will once again live and fight side by side against Evil and Dark Empires."
