| 1+1/2 cups shortening (butter) |
1+1/2 tsp (teaspoon) baking soda |

| 2+1/2 cups sugar - (1+1/4 cup of brown, 1+1/4 cup of
white) |
4 eggs |

| 2 tsp vanilla extract |
1 tsp salt | |
| 1/2 cup water | ||
| preheat ovento 350 degrees:. Mix above ingredents well with electric blender then mix in: |

| 2 cups flour | 6 cups oats | |
| 1 cup rasins | 1 cup walnuts (optional) | |
| 12 ounces chocolate chips | ||
| bake 10 to 20 minutes at 350 degrees on
greased cookie sheets (or on greased aluminum foil
covered oven racks) or until brown along the edges
(Depending on your oven) PLEASE NOTE: This recipe
makes 10 dozen cookies. divide the recipe if needed |
